VP of Operations - Skilled Nursing Facilities

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in California is $200K to $250K Anually. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
We are looking for a Regional VPO.
Responsibilities:

- Ensures that each resident receives superior care in a manner that maintains or enhances their quality of life, and helps them attain and maintain the highest possible mental and physical functional status, in an environment of kindness, dignity, and respect.
- Ensures quality of care and operational effectiveness through open communication with residents and their family and friends, including managing requests, complaints, and recommendations. Visits with residents on admission and frequently throughout their stay; meets with residents and their family members to assure needs are met. Maintains confidentiality of all resident care information.
- Ensures that all residents’ rights including fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to file complaints, are well established and protected at all times.
- Complies with and upholds all company policies and procedures.
- Act as the Administrator for a facility when the position is vacant.
- Leads team and provides proactive support, removing obstacles, and providing solutions as needed. Fosters a work environment that values and recognizes the contributions of each employee and encourages a spirit of cooperation, communication, and teamwork to achieve organizational goals.
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, training, and ongoing development of facility leadership and staff.
- Provide direction and guidance to ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Improve the profitability and operational efficiency of facilities within the assigned region.
- Review and analyze financial, clinical, and operational performance indicators.
- Ensure a high level of customer service and address resident and family concerns promptly.
- Maintain current knowledge of program policies, service, and license compliance requirements.
- Oversee the facility’s quality assessment and improvement program.
- Make site visits to locations and provides professional development and training to achieve optimum staff performance.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with key line, contracts, marketing, and clinical staff to ensure thorough understanding of company products/services.
- Ensure location leaders are kept abreast of assigned product lines, programs and services.
- Participates in the education of these to frontline caregivers, as directed.
- Implement sound fiscal management systems to achieve financial objectives.
- Ensure facility funds and resident funds are managed according to strict fiduciary standards.
- Lead and motivate facility staff to achieve organizational goals.
- Provide professional development and training to staff to achieve optimum performance.
- Conduct performance reviews and administer disciplinary actions as needed.
- Foster a work environment that values teamwork, communication, and employee contributions.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for new markets and initiatives in collaboration with marketing team.
- Maintain relationships with medical professionals, referral sources, and community representatives.
- Participate in the development of marketing plans and community relations activities.
- Comply with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including, but not limited to the Compliance Program: Code of Conduct, HIPAA and Documentation Standards.
- Ensure a high level of customer service to our patients/clients and each other at all times.
- Reports the following in accordance with established facility procedures and regulatory standards: accidents and incidents; resident grievances, complaints, allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property; occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals; concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance including but not limited to hazardous conditions and equipment.
- Adheres to state regulations and company policies and procedures; HIPAA confidentiality standards of resident and facility information; Infection Control, including bloodborne pathogens, standard precautions, contact precautions, hand washing, and common infectious conditions; and established safety precautions and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Must have current nursing home administrator license
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree is preferred
- Minimum of one year as a facility administrator
- Solid understanding of COBRA, Title XXII, DHS regulations
- Able to review profit and loss statements
- Able to review and create operating budgets
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Understanding of disciplinary and corrective action procedures
- Demonstrates knowledge of Quality Assurance program through application of principals in departmental operations
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment juggling multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines, analyze issues, think creatively, problem-solve and multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and coaching skills including patience and the ability to work well with employees at all levels
- Ability to maintain neutrality and create a safe environment for employees to raise concerns
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to teamwork and creating a culture that is supportive of employees
- Excellent computer skills required – Word, Excel, Software applications
- Experience working with diverse groups and populations
- Ability to represent Company in an ethical and professional manner, and to maintain accountability
- Ability to interact tactfully, effectively, and professionally with other employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public, as needed
- Ability to understand and follow applicable regulations, policies and procedures fully and consistently
- Willingness and ability to function as an effective team member through good communication and cooperation to meet departmental goals
- Must successfully pass background check, health exams, and any other pre-employment requirements
- Willing to work beyond normal working hours, weekends, holidays, and/or on other shifts and in other positions, when necessary
